Tribeca Performing Arts Center Honored

May 26, 2009

BMCC’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center was recently nominated for a Nickelodeon ParentsConnect Parent’s Picks Award. Along with a handful of other theaters, the Tribeca Performing Arts Center was nominated in the category “Best Theater for Kids in NYC.”

Nickelodeon’s is the online resource for parenting advice and community. Geared towards parents with kids of all ages, offers unique features including local events and resources personalized profiles that help parents connect with each other.

Parents do the nominating
Through July 15th, the site is allowing parents nationwide to nominate their favorite family resources—within their community—for their Second Annual Parents’ Picks Awards.  “It feels great to be nominated,” says Eli Abdallah, Director of Marketing for the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. “This is a tremendous honor and a wonderful opportunity for us.”

The 2009 award winners will be featured on ParentsConnect throughout the year, “which helps promote our family programming and our overall our awareness,”  said  Abdallah. He believes that the nomination helps promote the college as well; for it will show New Yorkers that BMCC has an award-winning performing Arts Center on its campus.
