Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) President Antonio Pérez will present his annual State of the College address to the college community on March 7, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., in Theatre 2 on the college’s main campus, 199 Chambers Street.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and learn about BMCC’s milestones and achievements reached in the past year. President Pérez will also share the college’s commitment to equity and social justice.
In the 2016 State of the College address, President Pérez reviewed highlights such as a National Science Foundation grant that funded the development of game-based educational materials for math remediation at BMCC. He reported on programs including Comprehensive Assistance and Retention Empowerment Services (CARES), for students coming from the foster care system, and updated the college community on BMCC’s new majors. In this year’s State of the College Address, President Pérez will update the college community on ongoing initiatives, as well as highlight new ones.
