In that role, she partnered with members of the BCC community to identify funding opportunities, especially those in government agencies. She diversified BCC’s grants portfolio by adding federal, state and local grants, and partnered with RF CUNY and federal agencies to provide pre-submission reviews on BCC’s government grant proposals, which improved their competitiveness.

Appointed to the BCC Strategic Planning Committee, Dean Eisenberg also served on that college’s faculty-led, STEM Advisory Board, coordinating grant-funded STEM programs on campus and highlighting opportunities to pursue funding.

Submitting about 30 grants annually at BCC that yielded around $5.8 million a year in awards, Dean Eisenberg’s wins at BCC included $6.3 million in CUNY 2020 funds to renovate Loew Hall as an on-campus workforce training center. She also led the procurement of $3 million in U.S. Department of Education, Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions (Title V) grant funds to improve retention of full-time, first-time college students. She facilitated an award of $5 million in National Science Foundation Scholarships in STEM (S-STEM) funds to provide scholarships, faculty mentoring, research opportunities and other resources to 80 BCC and 30 Lehman College students annually. Another grant for $3.5 million from the NYC Department of Education provided Birth-5 funds for on-campus childcare services for student-parents.

Alongside her career as a grants director, Dean Eisenberg is the founder, principal and president of ProposalPRO, Inc, which provides expert grant writing and program planning services for non-profit and government organizations.

Under her leadership, ProposalPRO has facilitated awards including over $20 million in AmeriCorps funding for Minnesota nonprofits that support children’s academic attainment, provide adult education and job placement services, strive to reduce homelessness and mitigate climate change.

ProposalPRO has also gained awards across the Hudson Valley, New York. These include over $10 million in Supportive Services for Veteran Families funding from the Veterans Administration to reduce homelessness and provide vocational, social, health and mental health supports for over 1,000 veterans, and $9 million in Ready to Work funds from the U.S. Department of Labor to re-train 400 long-term unemployed adults for in-demand jobs.

In addition, ProposalPRO has won over $7.5 million in arts and education grants from the U. S. Department of Education, including an Investing in Innovations (i3) grant, which was used to build a national model of professional development for arts educators in NYC public schools.
