Center for Career Development Welcomes Director Robert B. Earl, Jr.

Recently, the Center for Career Development at Borough of Manhattan Community College, The City University of New York (BMCC/CUNY) welcomed Robert B. Earl, Jr. as its new Director.

“I am excited to join the BMCC Center for Career Development, where I look forward to helping students maximize the return on their academic investment,” said Director Earl. “By providing comprehensive career support, we aim to empower students to secure meaningful internships and job opportunities that align with their goals and ambitions.”

An accomplished team of advisors inspires and assists students as they consider next steps in leveraging their academic achievements to gain a viable profession.

“The Center for Career Development is a valuable resource for students as they navigate career paths and network with potential employers. It sets them up not only for jobs, but fulfilling careers,” says BMCC Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Michael Hutmaker.

“Robert Earl brings many years of expertise in working with college students to build employer relationships, staying current of employment trends that lead to more opportunities for students, and most importantly, helping students feel confident in their career journey.”

Before joining BMCC, Mr. Earl served as the Director of the Office of Career Preparation and Professional Development at St. Joseph’s University.

Prior to that, he served for 10 years as Director of the Career Development Office at Barnard College, Columbia University, where he increased the number of students and alumnae using the Barnard career services, launched a Wall Street Prep program for students interested in investment banking, and created a Technology Career Fair for students.

Mr. Earl also gained earlier career services experience at Ithaca College and Erie Community College, the State University of New York (SUNY).

In addition to having earned a Master of Science in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from SUNY College at Buffalo, Mr. Earl holds a Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.
