Students at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) can earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in the Business Management/ General Management program fully online starting in Fall 2020.  BMCC received notification the New York State Education Department approved the online option on July 14.

Now that the Business Management/General Management program is fully available online, students can complete the entire degree program from anywhere in the world.

In addition to the fully online option, Business Management/General Management courses are offered on-campus as well as a combination of both online and on-campus. Students can select the platform which best serves their scheduling and learning needs.

“The fully online program will benefit many of our students,” said Business Management Professor Francisca C. Campos, program coordinator of the General Management program.

“Students that will benefit the most from this program include workers with staggered schedules, stay -at-home-parents, veterans and individuals who may not have considered BMCC due to accessibility.”

The General Management concentration within the Business Management program provides students with knowledge to work in any industry as a support provider or on a management team and is useful across various disciplines and professions.

BMCCs fully online Business Management/General Management program helps students develop the necessary core skills that are applicable to various fields in the business world.  Students who successfully complete the program enter the workforce or their next level of higher education with practical and industry-centric technical skills.

Graduates of the program benefit from articulation agreements with the CUNY School of Professional Studies, Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus and New York Institute of Technology (CUNY) where they can go on to complete a bachelor’s degree.

The Business Management/General Management curriculum includes subjects such as an introduction to different business structures, marketing, organizational management, business communication, human resources and information technology.

The program prepares students for a range of careers including administrative assistants, human resource assistants, to general managers.

“Our Business Management/General Management fully online associate degree program is the first of its kind at BMCC,” said Campos “Our program was developed with our students’ needs in mind and will complement their knowledge base learning with practical and industry needed technical skills.”
