BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center Presents The Art of Stand-Up Featuring Rick Younger and Others

The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center will host its annual evening of laughter on Friday, February 5 at 8:00 pm with acclaimed headline local comedian Rick Younger and additional comedians Pam DeButts, Jim Mendrinos, Jimmy Son, and Nicky Sunshine. Tickets are $15 each or $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.tribecapac.org or by calling 212-220-1460.  The comedians will perform at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, 199 Chambers Street (Between Greenwich and West).

Bios:

Rick Younger appears regularly on NBC’s Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda on the segment, “Guys Tell All.” Rick has made television appearances on BET’s ComicView and Teen Summit, FOX’s 30 Seconds to Fame, Showtime at the Apollo, and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. You may also recognize him from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Damages, and commercial spots for Starburst, Verizon and Staples to name a few.

Pam DeButts studied stand up at Gotham Comedy Club, musical improv at The Magnet Theater and sketch writing at Upright Citizens Brigade and the Magnet Theater.  Pam is also an alumni of Rutgers University. Pam has also appeared on YouTube (New Media Comedy TV), on the radio (The Marc Berman Show, Controlled Chaos with Gary Garver, The Johnny Mandolin Show), and on her own monthly podcast (Wise Butts, Broadband Box Office).

Jim Mendrinos, returning to Tribeca PAC,is the common man with uncommon comedy observations. From world politics to the politics of personal relationships, Jim’s everyman insights create a symphony of comedy covering a wide spectrum of humanity. Jim is respected in the industry, so much so that he was asked to author The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Comedy Writing (Alpha Press, © 2004.) Jim’s comedy has been featured on stand-up stages around the world. He brought his special brand of funny to SiTV, Comedy Central, The Fox News Network, HBO and the BBC.

Jimmy Son, a project management consultant-turned comic, has performed at Gotham Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live, Stand Up NY and Broadway Comedy Club to name a few.  Jimmy Studied at Cornell University.

Nicky Sunshine, a return performer to Tribeca PAC, has starred in and produced several comedy shows in major NYC venues such as the Times Square Arts Center, Broadway Comedy Club, Stand-Up NY & New York Comedy Club. She has also performed in numerous Off-Broadway productions including the acclaimed play by Linda Nieves Powell, Yo Soy Latina. She originated the role of Samana in the hit play Platanos and Collard Greens.
