BMCC President Munroe an Honoree in 2024 Crain’s New York Business List of Notable Black Leaders

President MunroeCrain’s New York Business has named Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) President, Dr. Anthony E. Munroe as an honoree in their prestigious 2024 list of 100 Notable Black Leaders.

Among other accomplishments, Crain’s recognized Dr. Munroe for crafting innovative programs that cater to the needs of a diverse student population, and are aimed at equipping students with practical skills as well as nurturing their critical thinking and personal growth.

The Crain’s list also recognized Dr. Munroe for understanding the transformative impact of global experiences, establishing a host of unique study- and service-abroad programs at BMCC. These include a partnership Dr. Munroe forged with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), which will further expand opportunities abroad for BMCC students.

Dr. Darlene WilliamsThe Crain’s Notable Black Leaders list includes honorees in industries that span from law and finance to nonprofits and the arts. Individuals are selected based on their demonstrated accomplishments, professional success and meaningful contributions to their respective industries.

Also included in the 2024 Crain’s Notable Black Leaders list is BMCC alumna Dr. Darlene Williams, who in addition to serving as President and CEO of Union Settlement, teaches as an adjunct in the Business Department at BMCC.
