BMCC Open House Hosts More Than 330 Students and Guests

July 7, 2017

More than 330 prospective BMCC students and guests attended the Summer 2017 Open House on June 29 in Richard Harris Terrace at 199 Chambers Street.

Close to 70 faculty and staff volunteers as well as more than a dozen student volunteers were on hand to talk with guests about the benefits of attending BMCC and to share their own experience at the College. Further information on the application and enrollment process was provided with a Welcome Presentation and panel discussion in Theatre 2.

“The Open House enabled prospective students to talk with faculty about academic programs they might be interested in. They also had one-on-one conversations with current BMCC students about services such as tutoring and peer mentoring, and activities such as clubs that are part of the college experience,” says Kevin Dougherty, BMCC Recruitment Coordinator and Admissions Specialist who coordinated the event. “Overall, the Open House gave a sense of the community at BMCC, which has an important role in student engagement and success.”
