The group’s sound is a cross between soul, rock, jazz, blues and funk.  Snack Cat’s members have played and recorded with Roberta Flack, John Mayer, The Zach Brown Band, Grace Potter, Ben Folds, John Patitucci, Jersey Boys, Greg Allman, and more. The band recently released its debut EPwith the internationally known record label Ropadope.

Generations: R&B, folk, salsa and samba

Generations is an NYC-based, father-and-son led group blending soulful vocals with virtuoso guitar playing. It features Mike Glick (lead vocals, guitar) and son Aleksi Glick (from Snack Cat) as well as singer/songwriter Lindsey Wilson.

The New York Times wrote of Lindsey, “More rousing and musically substantive than the music of city folksingers of previous generations,” while Pete Seeger called him “one of the best songwriters going.”

Mike has toured widely and Aleksi has played duos with such jazz masters as Paul Bollenback, Ed Cherry and Vic Juris. Lindsey, a much in-demand singer, brings great harmonies, energy and even more depth to the group’s soulful music. Generations’ last recording, “Two for the Blues,” featured a mixture of blues, poetic inspiration and political commentary, but in the current political situation current songs include Let’s Build A Wall Around Jesus, Alternative Facts, and Katrina Blues.

Generations is a greatly versatile group with elements of R&B, folk, salsa and samba. Listen closely, and you may hear echoes of Phil Ochs, Joni Mitchell, Pete Seeger, Eric Clapton and even Frank Zappa, among others.
