Academic Support Services

There are a number of academic supports available to students including one-on-one and small group tutoring, study space, and access to computers and supplemental online instruction. Take advantage of academic supports to further your goals.

Tutoring Center & Library

The tutoring Center and Library are located in room 1507 and available to MEOC students. Current tutoring schedule is available outside of room 1507 and in Academic Affairs in the 1500 block of cubicles. The library has collections of books and newspapers related to career development, job searching strategies, personal and academic and career skills development.

Resource Lab

The Resource Lab is available students and community residents to support the completion of assignments, online research, job search, and job readiness activities. There are 28 computer stations and a study area.

MEOC Student Resource Lab hours:

Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m – 8:45 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

In addition the lab is open to the community as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Students and community residents interested in using the Resource Lab and Library should visit Room 1511. The lab is subject to closure due to testing, registration and other events. During the summer, the Center is closed on most Fridays and is not open in the evening. For an up-to-date schedule please visit this website, the lab, or call (212) 961-4346.

ATTAIN Lab

Additional learning resources are available in MEOC’s Advanced Technology Training and Information Technology Networking (ATTAIN) Lab. The lab, located on the 16th floor in room 1607, contains a broad range of self-paced, interactive, academic and vocational training modules at varying skill levels.

In addition to being a supplement to classroom instruction, the ATTAIN Lab is a rich resource for students interested in acquiring new knowledge and skills, as well as certification in specific subject areas.

Interactive training modules include Microsoft® Digital Literacy, Microsoft Learning Academy, academic skills enhancement for High School Equivalency (HSE), ELLIS and Rosetta Stone® to improve English language skills, College Prep, Healthcare Services, and Customer Service. Applicants or prospective students interested in using the ATTAIN Lab should follow the MEOC Admissions procedures. Current students interested in using the ATTAIN lab should meet with the Registrar.
