Our media labs provide students in the Video Arts and Technology/Media Arts and Technology major at BMCC an opportunity to learn in a state-of-the art facility.
Media Labs
Our Mac-based multimedia labs include the Avid Media Composer software, which is integrated into a full Avid ISIS shared storage/Interplay environment. We also have Avid ProTools, Adobe Creative Cloud and Maxon’s Cinema 4D among other software.
Broadcast Studios
We have two broadcast quality High-Definition (HD) video studios, with full lighting grid and dimmer systems, “green screen” capabilities as well as Avid Motion Graphics for motion text.
Our larger studio has a double-height ceiling, an “infinity” two-wall cyclorama (painted chroma-key green) and an Avid Airspeed, which allows for instant access in our Media Lab to video recorded in the studio.
We also have an audio studio, with ProTools HD and professional sound console.
Loaner Program
Registered students in some production classes have access to audio and video field production equipment. These are predominately tapeless cameras with support audio and lighting equipment. For more information about the process for borrowing, please refer to the Guidelines.
