Financial Counselor (Save for Success Program)

Develops and implements programming, services, and learning opportunities for students, promoting personal development of diverse population

Administers one or more student affairs programs, providing program management, assistance with policy development, supervision and training of all professional and support staff, and report preparation

Serves as a resource to students and/or populations as a consultant and advocate for their concerns

Researches and stays current on higher education programs, trends, and issues with student impact

Produces workshops and materials to support student specific programs

Performs related duties as assigned


Reporting to the Student Success Manager, the Save for Success Financial Counselor will:

Meet with the student one-on-one to design a financial plan

Collaborate with various campus offices to help students to meet financial goals

Help address other financial barriers that may arise with the student

Develop a data collection and tracking tool

Develop financial literacy workshops/presentations

Develop an evaluation metric for the program

Complete the interim and annual report



Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Accounting, Finance, business, or related field. At least three years of full-time work experience in a financial setting preferred.

Experience in a diverse setting, preferably working with higher education setting. 

Prior experience in coordinating and evaluating financial advising programs

Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail required. 

Be a dynamic individual who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students, visitors and campus community.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media

Work schedule will include some evenings and weekends.


Salary: Part-time at $25/hr
