BMCC is currently seeking a full-time digital marketing coordinator, who will be responsible for daily implementation of digital engagement on social media and photography. The individual will work within the Office of Public Affairs and report directly to the Executive Director of Public Affairs.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Monitoring social media outlets in real-time, keeping the Office of Public Affairs informed of postings and communications.

Serving as the social media liaison to departments within the BMCC community; and provides assistance and guidance in managing department’s social media efforts.

Schedule daily posts and provide digital support (photography) for breaking news and timely information.

Provides photography (shooting and editing) to support web articles, news items, digital TV monitor displays and select campus events.

Provide and manage metrics and analytics on BMCC social media channels.

Support preparation of and participates in the weekly social media/web committee meetings for BMCC’s Office of Public Affairs; and monthly CUNY social media roundtable meetings.

Research and identify new digital platforms that advance BMCC’s social media and digital marketing efforts.

Create and align various communication work products such as video, digital formats, layouts, graphics, web pages and digital signage to ensure consistency and effective messaging.

Assess, enhance and manage the user experience on social media platforms.

Collaborate with graphic designers, webmasters and other Public Affairs staff and IT professionals to create comprehensive photography and digital marketing efforts.

Supervise multimedia assistants, student workers and interns as they engage in photography and digital marketing activities.

Assume other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Public Affairs.


Coordinates the design and production of publications, written materials, and multi-media communications.

Organizes publications and communications projects from inception through final stage in a variety of media

Prepares materials and creates graphic designs utilizing logos, templates and other graphic elements

Applies College-wide graphic and technical standards to insure quality and consistency of College identity

Assists in coordinating production in a variety of media and formats, both print and on-line

Performs related duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree and two years' related experience highly preferred. This ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and skills:

Experience using digital tools like Hootsuite, Slack, and Buffer.

Ability to collect and interpret metrics for social media channels.

Strong portfolio in photography and digital marketing campaigns.

Demonstrated ability apply College-wide graphic and technical standards to ensure quality and consistency of College identity.

Outstanding organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with faculty and/or subject matter experts.

Provide samples of completed digital campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.


Strong knowledge and experience in Photography for digital marketing.

Knowledge of learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, etc.)

Experience in higher education.

Procures required internal and external resources and services and manages their utilization.


Salary commensurate with education and experience.
