Charles  McGill

Assistant Professor, Music and Art

Charles McGill received an AA of Fine Arts from Keystone Junior College in LaPlume, PA., a BFA in Illustration from The School of Visual Arts in NYC, an MFA in painting from The Maryland Institute College of Art, and he also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He is a 2014 recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant and a 2012 Fellow in Residence at The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. In 2009 he was awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant and he was a recipient of an Art Matters Travel Grant 2007.  
His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, The Village Voice, The Brooklyn Rail and Artnet Magazine.  Before joining the BMCC faculty he was most recently an adjunct professor of Drawing and Painting at Norwalk Community College and Westchester Community College. He is a published illustrator and a multidisciplinary fine artist with a concentration in found object assemblage and sculpture. His artwork has been widely exhibited and is represented in New York City by Pavel Zoubok Gallery.
