Rigoberto Andino, a native New Yorker that grew up in the South Bronx, obtained a B.B.A. in Business Management from Monroe College, Bronx, New York and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Binghamton University, Binghamton, New York.

His areas of expertise include Historical Sociology, World Systems Analysis, Colonial and Post-Colonial studies, Critical Race theory.

His research, which has been supported by the CUNY Diversity Projects Development Fund, and areas of study include Afro-Latino Studies (African American and Latinos Studies); ethnicity, race and class formation, and colonial and postcolonial studies.
