Justin Cabrillos is a choreographer, artist, and writer based in Brooklyn. He is a 2017 Movement Research artist-in-residence. He was a 2016 danceWEB scholar at ImPulsTanz, a recipient of a 2011 Greenhouse grant from the Chicago Dancemaker’s Forum, a 2011 LinkUP Artist in Residence (Chicago), and a 2008 fellow at Ox-Bow School of Art.

His work has been commissioned by the IN>TIME Series in Chicago, and his latest project, Holdings, has been commissioned by Danspace Project and is supported by a residency at Chez Bushwick. Cabrillos has shown work at the Cultural Center of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Aunts, Roulette, and Movement Research at Judson Church. He has performed with Every house has a door, Ayako Kato, Marissa Perel, and Jen Rosenblit.

He holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in English literature from the University of Washington, Seattle.
