Esin Egit, Ph.D. received her doctoral degree in cultural anthropology from The Graduate Center, CUNY and holds a B.A in sociology from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. Her areas of interest are psychological anthropology, gender and sexuality, and identity formation. Her geographical focus is the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Before coming to BMCC, Dr. Egit taught anthropology at John Jay College for over six years.
