April 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
| Richard Harris Terrace

The Library seeks to host a space for students to come and imagine what a more just society would look like through the creation of mini-comics on whatever aspect of society captivates their civic imagination. The visual-textual language of comics creates space for all types of learners and communicators, and invites readers to piece together the narratives storytellers provide in their sequence of panels. Participants will be given time to create their comic and have the opportunity to share concept and work with their peers. In addition to introducing an avenue of self-expression and cultivating the civic imagination, the event will also highlight works in our comics collection that detail social justice embodied as well as creators who are also using the medium to imagine a more just society.
