New York City International Book Fair

The sixth edition of the New York City International Book Fair (FILNYC) will focus on New York, a meeting point for Spanish and other languages . FILNYC will be held from October 8 to 12 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC).

For FILNYC, this 2024 edition at BMCC is very significant because the fair is an initiative of the Institute of Mexican Studies at CUNY and this new space is also part of the higher education network of the City University of New York, CUNY.

This new space for FILNYC will allow authors, publishing industry professionals, students, readers, and the general public to come together in a larger space and for a longer period of time. Unlike previous editions and due to the growth of its audience, the fair will be extended with more days for simultaneous events, such as: literary activities, book presentations, workshops (for various ages and levels), the first professional days (a space to network between professionals in the world of Spanish-language books on both sides of the Atlantic), and a broader offer of book sales and exhibitions.

With this collaboration, the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and the New York City International Book Fair (FILNYC) will have the common goal of promoting literary outreach to the city’s Spanish-speaking communities by offering a greater cultural offering and artistic expression. Both institutions recognize the importance of holding this type of event for the educational community.
