On January 20, 2025, we celebrate the birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an advocate of nonviolent activism, who dedicated his life to combating racism and fighting for justice and equality. We are honoring his legacy by organizing volunteer opportunities for BMCC to give back to the community during January.
We are looking for 8 BMCC student volunteers per shift to work alongside the Rethink Culinary Team to organize and prepare food for distribution to community partners. Groups larger than 8 have the option to split into multiple shifts over one or consecutive days. Tasks may include portioning/labeling, peeling vegetables, juicing fruits, washing and picking herbs or greens, sorting donations, prepping food and packing meals.
RSVP if you are interested in joining this activity: https://bit.ly/DRMLKService.
All volunteers are required to complete the Travel Release Form and the Volunteer Release Waiver.
The first 100 students who sign up and participate in volunteer events during BMCC’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Days of Service will receive a commemorative volunteer t-shirt.
