11 am: Opening remarks: Dr. Janice Zummo, Associate Dean of

11:10 a.m.: Italian Language Jeopardy with Your Host, Professor Tom Means
11:30 a.m.: A Virtual Visit to Milan, Torino and Sorrento with the Italian professors
of BMCC
11:50 a.m.: Linda Stasi reads from her upcoming novel, The Descendant, and talks
about her career at New York Daily News and New York Post.
12:10 p.m.: Music performance, Mario Giacalone, formerly of Tribeca Performing Arts Center
12:40 – 1:20 p.m.: Hot Italian Buffet Lunch
1:20 p.m.: Songs by Dominic Scaglione Jr., from Tony Award-winning “Jersey Boys”
on Broadway

2 – 4 p.m. in Theater II of Tribeca Performing Arts Center, 199 Chambers Street

2 p.m.: “Pulcinella in Love,” Professor Claudia Terry with BMCC Theater Majors and
The Center Stage Theater Club of BMCC
3 p.m.: “An Afternoon of Italian Music,” Professor Eugenia Oi Yan Yau and
the BMCC Music Majors


Thursday, October 31, 1  – 2:30 p.m. in CETLS (Room S-510D)

Literature and Lunch: Catered, college-wide book talk. Two short stories by Luigi Pirandello: La patente “The License” and Soffio “A Breath.” The stories are provided by www.pirandellointranslation.org, a free access digital translation project co-led by Professor Lisa Sarti.
