Come to the laboratory (Room S633) and see a demonstration of the versatility of Raman Spectroscopy.
Did You Know?
Biological, Forensic, and Nanotechnological Applications are some of the many research opportunities
available in Raman Spectroscopy here at BMCC.
The BMCC Science Department has a WiTec alpha 300R Confocal Raman Microscope with three lasers – 785nm,488nm and 532nm.
Raman spectroscopy (named after Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman) is a spectroscopic technique used to observe vibrational, rotational, and other low-frequency modes in a system. Raman spectroscopy is commonly used in chemistry to provide a fingerprint by which molecules can be identified.
