How Do I Get Started?
Step 1: Find out if you are eligible for MyCAA by establishing an account on the Military Spouse Portal.
Step 2: Once you are registered search for available programs offered through the CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Center for Continuing Education & Workforce Development.
Step 3: Create your Career and Training Plan and request Financial Assistance (FA) at your MyCAA account. Complete form and upload it for approval.
Step 4: Upon approval, contact BMCC’s Center for Continuing Education & Workforce Development at (212) 346-8433 or for online programs contact ed2go at (877) 221-5151 to enroll in your approved program.

What is MyCAA?
The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship is a part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program. It was created to aid military spouses with their career development and employment assistance.
After successfully earning your high school diploma or equivalent, the MyCAA Scholarship will provide you with up to $4,000 in financial assistance for licenses, certifications, exam tests, or associate degrees to pursue an occupation or career field.
Am I eligible for MyCAA scholarships?
You must be the spouse of an active-duty Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, National Guard, or Reserve member in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, or O-1 to O-2.
If your spouse is a National Guard or AGR Member on federal Title 10 active-duty orders, you also may be eligible.
What does a MyCAA Scholarship pay for?
Qualified spouses can receive tuition funding for education and training courses that lead to credentials, certificates, and associate degrees with a specific concentration or major and exams leading to licensure or industry certification. Items not covered include housing, travel, books, equipment, supplies, uniforms, computers, or electronic devices of any kind.
