Business Management

The Business Management Department, in keeping with the mission of BMCC, will prepare you for degree completion, successful transfer, career achievement, and personal growth. To this end, we focus on excellence in teaching and learning with a curriculum that reflects the latest in pedagogy, technology, sustainability, and inclusivity.

We offer six associate degree programs. Four of these lead to an Associate in Science Degree (A.S.) for students who intend to continue their education. Two result in an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.), for students who wish to put their education to work right away. Read and follow the links below and speak with the us and an advisor to make the right choice.

Associate in Science (A.S.) Degrees

Compared to A.A.S. programs, A.S. programs include more humanities, social science, math, technology, and science courses. For many students, this makes possible the transfer of all 60 credits earned to a wide range of colleges to finish their bachelor’s in business. BMCC offers A.S. degrees in:

Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degrees

A.A.S. degree programs are more career- and business-focused. They include an internship and apprenticeships — opportunities that can lead to full-time careers after graduation. (Contact the Office of Internships and Experiential Learning to find out more about the internship and apprenticeship programs offered at BMCC.) You may earn an A.A.S. degree in either:

  • Business Management: Choose from concentrations in Finance and Banking, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, Travel and Tourism, as well as General Management; or
  • Small Business Entrepreneurship: This program prepares you to think innovatively and creatively, while developing the necessary skills to start your own business or expand your family’s business. It includes mentoring by successful entrepreneurs.

The Business Management  program is most suitable for those who would like to explore their interest in specific fields of business such as:

The Small Business Entrepreneurship program, also an A.A.S program, prepares students who want to open their own business or work in their family business with an understanding of managing and growing an entrepreneurial venture.

Entrepreneurial Summit

The Department of Business Management organizes an annual entrepreneurial summit, providing students with an opportunity to meet and hear from entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses. The 13th Annual Entrepreneurial Summit was held at BMCC in May 2019.

Apprenticeship Programs

Our apprenticeship programs allow Incoming BMCC Business students to work for a leading international company while going to school. You gain professional experience while pursuing your degree. The company pays for your tuition, books and school fees–plus you earn a salary. Contact the Office of Internships and Experiential Learning to find out more about their apprenticeship programs.
