CUNY Black Male Initiative and the Urban Male Leadership Academy present:
“Restorative Justice Education: We Are All Justice Involved”

The CUNY Black Male Initiative (BMI) and the BMCC Urban Male Leadership Academy present The Fourteenth Annual CUNY BMI conference entitled “Restorative Justice Education: We Are ALL Justice Involved.” The conference will feature a morning keynote by world-renowned activist and advocate, Mr. Shaun King and an afternoon keynote by world famous hip-hop artist and activist, Mr. Talib Kweli.

The conference morning panels will specifically discuss historical context of issues that face the re-entry community and higher education transitioning strategies for all ages.

The afternoon panels will discuss how advocacy can be transformed into action for college and surrounding communities who experience justice involvement or are justice involved adjacent. The overall theme of the conference will focus on improving cultural sensitivity and engaging the lens of universal precautions to more deeply support all students – because when one person has justice involvement, we are ALL justice involved.

Registration is free for CUNY and Department of Education students and employees, and registration is $100 for the general public.

CUNY Black Male Initiative programs are open to all academically eligible students, faculty and staff, without regard to race, gender, national origin or other characteristic.
