Why Prepare for College Now?

Why take college classes while I’m still in high school?

It pays to know what’s ahead. College is not just a continuation of high school. By taking a college level course now, you get a chance to understand the demands of college life before you get there.

There’s no magical route for success in college; it takes hard work and dedication. But College Now students have a competitive edge. By arriving at college already knowing what it takes to succeed in the classroom and how to get the most out of college life, you will have an easier transition into higher education and improve your likelihood of graduating from college.

Besides, earning college credits while still in high school will save you time and money, and it doesn’t look too bad on a college application either!

What if I sign up for a class, and don’t do well?

College classes are a serious commitment for which you need to be well prepared. If you get a poor grade in a college-credit class, that grade will appear on your transcript. You should expect to spend time outside of class completing assignments or conducting research.

I know I want to go to college, but I’m not sure what I want to study.

Sometimes it is difficult to decide what to major in, especially when you enjoy many different subjects and have the ability to do lots of things well. But that is what’s great about College Now. Participating in College Now courses allows you to explore subjects in a variety of different disciplines without wasting time and money!

And what if I’m not sure I want to go to college at all?

This is an opportunity to find out if college is for you! College Now gives you a chance to experience college before you get there. With access to our campus, and a chance to interact with students and faculty, you will get a real taste of college life. Even more important, you’ll be going through the experience with other high school students who are facing the same big decisions you are.
