Welcome from the Chair

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Nursing Program, which was established in 1967.

The college is a two-year urban institution, and one of twenty-four units comprising the City University of New York (CUNY), and its largest community college.  Our Associate Degree nursing program is also the largest CUNY nursing program.

BMCC is located in the heart of New York City’s financial center and the Tribeca section of the city, overlooking the picturesque Hudson River and New Jersey skyline.  The community served by the college extends far beyond the Wall Street-City Hall area. Students commute to BMCC from the Tri-State area.  In 1983, the college was designated as a Historical Black College and has been recognized by the Department of Education as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

Our nursing program admits an average of 81 students each semester and offers both day and evening/weekend classes. The diverse faculty and student body are from all five Boroughs of the city, various surrounding communities, and many countries around the world.  We promote high standards of educational excellence, by offering our students support services and faculty mentoring, as they progress in our comprehensive and rigorous program.
To augment student clinical/practice experiences, we have a state-of–the-art Human Patient Simulation (HPS) laboratory. Our graduates are highly skilled and are pursued by many facilities in the Greater New York City area.

Should you decide to apply and enroll at BMCC, we will welcome and nurture you as you pursue your career as a registered professional nurse.

Sincerely,
Judy Eng, APRN, MS, GNP-BC
