Who is eligible for CUNY 2X Tech at BMCC?
Any student that is actively enrolled in an academic program (including the Cybersecurity certificate program) within the Computer Information Systems Department and is in good academic standing is eligible for career development support from the CUNY 2X Tech program. Individual offerings for bootcamps, training, internships, grants, employment, etc., that are advertised through CUNY 2X Tech, may have other requirements.
What are the measurable benefits of participation in the CUNY 2X Tech Initiative?
From 2017 – 2022, the interventions performed by CUNY 2X Tech resulted in:
- Doubling the number of CUNY’s Computer Science graduates
- Doubling the number of tech majors that participate in related internships
- 80% of CUNY’s tech graduates being employed within the sector 2-years after graduation
- Effecting a 20% increase in starting salaries for tech graduates
Who funds the CUNY 2X Tech Initiative?
CUNY 2X Tech is funded by the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline (TTP), an industry partnership between City government, employers, and educators that exists to support NYC’s growing tech sector and ensure that all New Yorkers have equitable access to great tech jobs in every sector.
How do I enroll into the CUNY 2X Tech program at BMCC?
If you are actively pursuing one of the 5 academic programs housed within the CIS department at BMCC AND are available to accept an internship or employment opportunity (PT or FT) in tech during the Spring, Summer, or Fall 2025 semesters, please complete the intake form and wait to be contacted by a staff member.
For those being denied access to the intake form:
- Log out of your BMCC email (Outlook), BMCC portal, and MS 365 accounts.
- Log into the CUNY MS 365 account using your CUNYFirst username and password.
You cannot access the intake form if you are logged in with your BMCC email.
