Develop Your Concept

As soon as possible in the process, write a one-page concept that explains:

  • The need or problem you are trying to address, or the research you seek to pursue.
  • Why this work is necessary.
  • What specific activities will take place, when.
  • What the anticipated outcome will be.
  • How will students benefit from this project?

Your concept must be accompanied by a pro forma budget (xlsx) that sets out:

  • Who are the senior personnel seeking this grant and how will they be compensated?
  • What other personnel are engaged in this grant and how will they be compensated?
  • How many students will be served? Are they receiving funding?
  • Are partners involved? How will they be compensated?
  • Are consultants involved? How will they be compensated?
  • If travel is required, who travels, to where, for what purpose, and for how long? What are the estimated costs?
  • If supplies are needed (max unit price < $5,000), what is needed, for what grant purpose, and at what cost?
  • If this project engages students, what is the per-student cost?

Send your concept, pro forma budget, and a link to the proposal URL to Dean Judith Eisenberg at JEisenberg@bmcc.cuny.edu.
