Acting Vice President of Finance and Administration

Julio W. IzquierdoJulio W. Izquierdo serves as Acting Vice President of Finance and Administration. Prior to joining BMCC, Mr. Izquierdo was Vice President of Finance and Administration with Nassau Community College (NCC)/SUNY, where he guided the College administratively and financially though the continuing pandemic ensuring smooth conversion to remote learning and remote working environment. Mr. Izquierdo, as part of the Cabinet, was instrumental in strategizing and instituting a sound business plan that allowed NCC to minimize the enrollment decline due to the pandemic. Mr. Izquierdo comes with extensive experience in internal control from the higher education, healthcare and private industries instituting sound polices and procedures to meet internal control requirements in all those industries. Before his role as VP of Finance and Administration, Mr. Izquierdo served as Comptroller at NCC. Other recent work experience includes serving as Vice President of Business Operations and CFO with Essex County College; CFO and Vice President of Business Development with BluTek Power, Inc.; Senior Internal Auditor with Quest Diagnostics, Inc.; Vice President and CFO with XDI Consulting Corp.; Vice President and CFO with Felician University; and Supervising Senior Auditor at KPMG (higher education and hospitals).

Mr. Izquierdo earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Peter’s College (Jersey City, NJ); a Master of Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ); and he has completed the International Business Seminar at Wroxton College (Oxfordshire, England).

Mr. Izquierdo is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant and a current member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). Previous memberships and affiliations include EACUBO (Eastern Association of Colleges and Universities Business Officers) – 1994- 2001 Audit Committee chairman (2000), Audit committee member (1997-2000); and The Institute of Internal Auditors (2002-2005).
