When can I apply for the program?
You can file an application after you have completed your first semester here at BMCC with 12 degree credits.
Will I be eligible for the program if I am enrolled in 12 equated credits?(e.g. ENG 095, ESL 095, MAT 010 and ACR095)?
No. You must be enrolled in 12 degree credits, (eg. SPE 100, ENG 101, HIS 101, CIS 101).
If I change my major from Nursing to Liberal Arts, will I be eligible for the program?
It depends on the number of degree credits that you currently have and whether or not the credits can be applied to the Liberal Arts major.
If I do not have 12 degree credits in my first semester, can I apply for the award in my second semester?
No. The program is geared for students who will have earned a minimum of 12 degree credits after the first semester.
If I took college courses while I was in high school, am I eligible for the program?
Yes, because you were still officially a high school student and not a fully matriculated college freshman.
Will I still receive the $1400 award if I transfer to another college before graduating?
No. You will not be eligible for the award once you transfer.
If I receive this award, can I apply for the BMCC Fund Scholarship?
No, you cannot.
