Academic advisement at BMCC is more than merely scheduling classes. Students are looking to you for structured guidance during their academic career. You should know that your exchange with students during advisement is crucial to their retention and success at the college. Your role is pivotal, in that you are an important key that helps connect students to the college and vice versa. Proper advisement is a process that aids students in reaching their goals through academic and personal growth.

Student academic advisement is one of BMCC's many beacons that helps move students up the road towards greater success and we thank you for your active participation in this important process. Advisement 101

Description: The session is a great tool for both beginner and seasoned advisors that need a refresher.  This interactive session will cover the nuts and bolts of advisement at BMCC and develop questions that advisors can ask students to further enhance the advisement experience.  Faculty will also get information about where to refer students with specific issues and/or problems.
