Adelphi University Connections Program

If you want to get a head start preparing for the major leading to your chosen profession, you'll want to connect with the Borough of Manhattan Community College/Adelphi University Connection Program.

The Connection Program is an agreement between Adelphi University and Borough of Manhattan Community College that lets you transfer seamlessly into upper level major courses at Adelphi when you complete your Associate's Degree. It's a great way to build your future on the solid academic foundations you've already established.

Adelphi will accept more than 60 transfer credits, and offers generous scholarships to transfer students.
While you are at Borough of Manhattan Community College, you can also participate in Adelphi's social, cultural, and academic activities while taking advantage of our extensive academic and financial counseling resources. To qualify for seamless admission to Adelphi, you should apply for the Connection Program when you enter Borough of Manhattan Community College. What's in it for me?
The Connection Program will introduce you to Adelphi's vibrant campus community while preparing you for the next phase of your educational career. While you're still at Borough of Manhattan Community college you'll:

  1. Get an Adelphi's ID card giving you access to Adelphi's libraries.
  2. Receive personalized academic advisement in your area of study. Get on track early by taking courses at Borough of Manhattan Community College, providing you with seamless transfer into Adelphi and into your major.
  3. Receive financial aid information and counseling that can benefit you when you transfer to Adelphi.
  4. Be able to attend Adelphi University's exciting lineup of athletic, cultural, and special events.
  5. We offer over 50 students clubs and organizations including C.A.L.I.B.E.R., Caribbean Cultural Awareness Club, Circle K, Environmental Action Coalition, International Student Society, N.A.A.C.P., and the Student Government Association.

How do I get connected?
To qualify for the Connection Program, you must be matriculated at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Once you apply to the program, you'll be contacted by a representative from the Adelphi Office of Admissions.

Will I need to take any additional courses at Borough of Manhattan Community College?
You'll only need to take the usual required courses for your selected program at Borough of Manhattan Community College. You can receive academic advisement in your area of study from Adelphi professionals.

What's it going to cost me?
There's no additional cost for taking part in this program.

How will I know I've been accepted by Adelphi?
A counselor in Adelphi's Office of Admissions will be in touch with you regularly once you enter the program to guide you through Adelphi's undergraduate admissions process. After you apply, you'll be notified about your acceptance as a transfer student.

What requirements must I meet to be accepted at Adelphi?
You'll be expected to have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.3 for regular acceptance. Certain majors such as Education, Communication, Sciences and Disorders, Nursing, and Social Work require a higher G.P.A. for acceptance. You can apply for any scholarships for transfer students that are in place when you start at Adelphi. If you have a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher, you're eligible for scholarships ranging from $3,000 to full tuition. If you live on campus, your resident fees may be reduced.

What about financial aid?
You'll receive financial aid information and counseling on a regular basis from Adelphi's Office of Student Financial Services. On average, students filing for financial aid receive roughly $12,600 in aid, and 89 percent of transfer students to Adelphi receive financial aid.
