The New School
The New School Bachelor’s Program is designed to offer transfer students a broad, ambitious, and stimulating curriculum in the liberal arts. We have a keen understanding of the challenges that go along with being a non-traditional undergraduate student, and as such have organized our program to accommodate students in your unique situation.
Knowing that adults come with rich and diverse backgrounds, as well as their own passions and curiosities, we do not impose distribution requirements; instead students work closely with their faculty advisors to develop personal programs of study. In our program you'll find degree options for students who prefer to do all their coursework online, an accelerated bachelor's/master's study option, internships, and individual academic and career advising. We think you'll find the program innovative, challenging, and flexible.
Articulation Agreement Summary*

- A.A. Liberal Arts (60-62 credits)
- A.A.S. Multimedia Programming and Design (60 credits)
- A.A. Writing and Literature (60-62 credits)

- This articulation agreement allows a student to transfer all the required credits needed to complete the associate degree programs listed above. Generally, The New School accepts a maximum of 84 transfer credits from a combination of sources such as: an articulation agreement with a Community College, credit from upper-level institutions, credit for prior learning and non-degree courses taken at The New School.
- The New School offers two scholarships specifically for community college graduates. The first is Academic Opportunity Grants, awarded on the basis of merit and need to community college graduates who demonstrate qualities contributing to the strength and diversity of the student body. The second is linked to the PTK Honors Society, whereby members are considered for need and merit-based scholarships in recognition of their academic achievement as community college students.
- Students who wish to transfer but have not completed the associate’s degree OR were unable to enroll immediately after graduation will receive admission consideration under our standard transfer credit policies.
