Perks of being a Title V Advisor
As a liberal arts faculty advisor you will:
- participate in an advisement training
workshops taught by professional consultants and in-house advisement staff during a 3
day session. These 3 sessions are held in January and May
- be trained in the use of Blackboard and DegreeWorks, a new student database to
record meetings with students as well as recommendations and/or actions taken.
- have no more than thirty student advisees assigned to you during the Title V
implementation period.
- after your initial training attend additional follow-up workshops on specific advisement issues, changing BMCC policies and procedures, and to evaluate and reflect
on your role as a faculty advisor during Fall 2006.
- contribute towards the development of a Faculty Academic Advisement Handbook
- be relieved of registration duty in the following semester.
- receive $1000 upon successful completion of the advisement and Blackboard training,
and $1000 after the first semester as a participating Title V faculty advisor.
