| CUNY Skills Assessment Tests |
| CUNY requires its students to be proficient in reading, writing, and mathematics. To this end, BMCC assesses the skill levels of its applicants as part of the admissions process. Most incoming students fulfill this requirement by taking the CUNY Reading, Writing, and Mathematics Tests. These three tests are administered by the BMCC Testing Office, Room N700. They are scheduled several times each month and take about 4-5 hours to complete. |
Results of these tests are used to determine placement into or exemption from remedial reading, writing, and mathematics courses. |
The CUNY Assessment Tests must be taken before you may register for classes. You will receive notification about the dates and time of testing upon your acceptance to BMCC.
If you have been accepted to BMCC and know that you are required to take the tests but have not received a test appointment, you may make an appointment online or in person at the Testing Office, Room N700. You will need to show a valid photo identification to schedule a test.
Any student who requires special accommodations for testing must make an appointment at the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities, Room N320.

On the day of the test, all students should remember to bring a valid photo identification, two pens, and two pencils. |
| If you have been accepted to BMCC and know you are
required to take the tests, but have not received a test appointment,
