| THE PRE-FRESHMAN
SUMMER/ WINTER IMMERSION PROGRAM |
This program is designed
for newly admitted students planning to enter or continue college.
The program provides an opportunity for students to acquire basic
skills, complete their basic skills obligations, and get a head start
on their college experience.
The program will:
| 1. |
offer basic skills courses to improve
student's proficiency in areas such as English (writing), English
as a Second Language, Reading and Mathematics; |
| 2. |
provide students with an opportunity
to enroll in one or more courses to reduce or eliminate the
number of basic skills courses they will be required to take
in the Fall or Spring semester; |

3. |
provide counseling, tutoring and
other support services; |
|
4. |
offer students an opportunity to
work with concerned and committed faculty in small class-size
settings. |
