ELECTED POSITIONS
Eligible students can run for the following elected positions.
PRESIDENT
  1. Provides executive leadership to the BMCC Student Government Association and assumes primary responsibility for the fulfillment of the SGA's purpose
  2. Represents the members of the SGA at official college ceremonies and at other places where such representation is appropriate.
  3. Appoint chairpersons of standing committees.
VICE-PRESIDENT
  1. Serves on the Budget Committee of the BMCC Association.
  2. Acts as liaison between the president and the senators in order to foster a strong working relationship between the executive and legislative branches.
  3. Presides over all meetings of SGA in the absence of the president.
  4. Assists the president when necessary.
TREASURER
  1. Serves on the Budget Committee of the BMCC Association.
  2. Maintains written records of all financial activities of the SGA and the BMCC Association.
  3. Reserves the power and responsibility to examine the financial records of any BMCC student group, club, organization, or service committee.
  4. Submits a financial report each semester reflecting all expenditures and income, plus the amount of balance on hand of the BMCC Association. This report will be published and made available to the entire student body.
SECRETARY
  1. Serves as a voting member of the Executive Board.
  2. Takes minutes of all SGA meetings.
  3. Maintains files, copies of reports and documents, including the SGA constitution and by-laws.
  4. Corresponds with all members, non-members and outside organizations when necessary.
STUDENT SENATORS (15 POSITIONS)
  1. Stay informed of the needs and interests of the student body, so the SGA may truly be a responsible democratic organization.
  2. Serve on college-wide and SGA committees, as appointed by the president, to ensure that students' needs and interests are addressed and met.
  3. Undertake or support projects or activities, which, in their opinion, serve the general interests of the students, the college, and/or the community.
  4. Serve as liaisons among the clubs and the SGA, to monitor and advocate club interests to the SGA.
