Can I apply to the program if I am graduating in the fall semester?
Yes. Students are encouraged to apply if they are enrolled at one of the eight participating campuses (Borough of Manhattan Community College, City College, College of Staten Island, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Lehman College, Medgar Evers College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College) in the fall semester.

I am transferring next semester (fall), can I still apply to be a member of the program?
If you are transferring to one of the eight participating campuses (Borough of Manhattan Community College, City College, College of Staten Island, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Lehman College, Medgar Evers College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College), then your answer is yes, you can still apply now. However, you will be a member of the program at the CUNY campus that you are transferring to.

I will be transferring in the spring semester, maybe to a participating CUNY campus or non-participating CUNY campus. Am I still eligible to apply?
If you are transferring to a participating CUNY campus you can still apply. Your campus manager will change after you transfer. If you are transferring to a non-participating CUNY campus (Baruch College, Bronx Community College, Brooklyn College, Guttman Community College, Hostos Community College, Hunter College, Kingsborough Community College, LaGuardia Community College, Queensborough Community College, York College) then we will allow you to apply, but after you complete your first semester in the program (fall) here at BMCC, you will have to continue reporting to your BMCC campus manager until the program ends in May.

I do not have 18-credits or the required GPA as yet, but I will meet these criteria by summer. Can I still apply now (spring)?
Yes, as long as you meet these criteria at the beginning of the fall semester. This also applies to completing your remedial classes.

If I am a freshman, can I still apply to CUNY Service Corps?
Your year on campus is not a deal breaker, as long as you meet the criteria to participate in the program you are eligible to apply.

I am an international student, will I be able to participate in the program?
Yes, the program supports international students. Many of our past and present members are international students.

Where will members of the program be working?
There are over 100 community partners. Attending the Matching Fair is mandatory as it allows you to conduct on the spot interviews with potential employers. Upon acceptance, everyone is matched into a placement site to fulfill their 24-week commitment. Students choose the organization they would like to work with for the academic year.

How much are CUNY Service Corps members paid?
$13/hour for 12-hours/week, as well as, $13 for the 14-hour training session in the summer.

My major requires me to complete an internship and/or fieldwork experience, can I use my placement site with CUNY Service Corps?
Yes, your placement site with CUNY Service Corps can be used to fulfill your internship and/or fieldwork experience requirement.
