BMCC Presidential Scholarship

Who Is Eligible:

The BMCC Foundation, Inc. Presidential Scholarship is a general scholarship made available annually by the Board of Trustees of the BMCC Foundation, Inc. to new students who demonstrate high academic performance and financial need.  The scholarship amount covers up to $3,200 per year. The Board of Trustees of the BMCC Foundation Inc. is comprised of business and civic leaders of the downtown Manhattan community.  The mission of the board is to: provide leadership and support to the College in the procurement of external resources needed for the College to meet its objectives and goals and to assist the College in strengthening and developing relationships with the various constituencies of the community in which the College resides and functions

Eligibility Criteria
•    graduate with a minimum high school average of 80%
•    demonstrate financial need
•    show evidence of community or volunteer service
•    be a graduating high school senior

•    Complete application on-line (See instructions below)
•    Write an essay discussing your long-range academic and professional goals and your financial need
•    Submit two letters of recommendation, at least one from your high school teacher or Guidance Counselor, and the other from any adult (other than a family member) who knows you well.

   (To request the recommendation, go to page 5 of the on-line application.  Enter  the recommender’s name and e-mail address in the spaces provided. As soon as you do, they will receive a link with instructions to write the recommendation.)
