Each year the Accounting Department trains students to become volunteer tax-preparers. Students, who passed the IRS Basic Volunteer Tax-Preparers Exam, are placed by NYC Food Bank and the Urban Upbound at various sites throughout the metropolitan area to volunteer. It is at these sites that you will obtain your priceless experience of preparing actual tax returns for low income individuals. You will also be certified by the IRS as a basic tax preparer.
Eligibility: Must be self-motivated and ready to work! Students who have taken ACC 241, or plan to take ACC 241 should consider volunteering. All majors can register!
