Nursing

BMCC offers both full-time and part-time, evening and weekend nursing programs for students who wish to become Registered Nurses. A degree in Nursing will provide you with a solid career helping others. Highlights of the nursing curriculum include courses in:

  • medical-surgical nursing care
  • pediatric care
  • maternal-newborn care
  • psychiatric nursing care.

Support and Guidance

The Nursing Department works closely with BMCC students to make sure they have all the support they need. We provide tutoring, academic advisement/counseling by nursing faculty, and extensive library resources related to nursing.

Our Nursing Skills Laboratory allows nursing students to practice techniques they are learning with human patients simulators.

Our student nurse extern program will give you clinical experience in a hospital setting.

After graduating from BMCC with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), or they may transfer to a four-year college or university to complete their bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Transfer Options

BMCC has articulation agreements with several schools in New York City and New York State to allow a seamless transfer of your credits to a four-year college.
