Educating BMCC Students on Drug Use

BMCC's Charles Daramola teaches a course about drug use. While the term "drug use" brings many thoughts to mind, Daramola focuses on the pros and cons of illegal and legal drugs -- and emphasizes to students that legal drugs can be just as hazardous to the body as illegal drugs.

"I think very often when we hear about drugs, we think of illegal drugs only -- Marijuana, LSD, Cocaine," says Daramola, a professor in the Health Education Department. "But there's a whole other set of drugs -- pharmaceutical products -- that are also considered drugs by society."
