& Audio Teleconferencing for the Community |
BMCC maintains a number of options for video and audio
teleconferencing. We have the capability of doing satelitte, ISDN
and SONET fiber loop conferencing. Each of these systems allows for
a different experience. We will work with you to identify the best
technical option for your needs.
ISDN teleconferencing allows you to do a two-way interactive teleconference
with most universities, colleges, non-profit organizations as well
as many businesses. With this technology we can connect with most
of the CUNY colleges. ISDN conferences can be hosted in our small
television studio or in room S370.
SONET fiber optic loop teleconferencing is done in cooperation
with the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
This technology provides near-broadcast quality video, but it is limited
to locations that are on the SONET loop. This type of conference can
be done in room S-501M.
Satellite teleconferences can be both originated and downlinked
here at the college. They are excellent for reaching a large number
of sites over a large geograpical area.
If you would like a tour of these facilities, more detailed information
or a demonstration, please contact the Director
of the Media Center at 220-1386. |
