| Winter
and Summer Workshops in Accounting |
Students enrolled in Accounting Principles I (ACC 122)
are invited to a workshop designed to help students in accounting.
Mastery of the first two chapters of Principles of Accounting is critical
for success in the course. Like mathematics, the subject of accounting
is cumulative; that is, it is very difficult to be successful in the
course without a solid grasp of the first two chapters. The workshop
will give students a chance to get a head start and to develop a solid
foundation for success. The topics that will be covered include:
- The Accounting Equation
- The Double-Entry System
- Accrual Accounting
- Preparation of Financial Statements
The workshop includes lectures from accounting faculty (led by Prof.
Chu). Experienced accounting tutors will be on hand at the end of
each lecture to guide students through additional accounting exercises.
