What are the lab hours?

Monday - Thursday: 8am - 10pm
Friday: 8am - 7pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm (Fall and Spring semesters ONLY)
Sunday: 10am - 5pm (Fall and Spring semesters ONLY)

Who can use the open labs?

Any student with a valid BMCC ID. All others must be approved by Dean Michael Gillespie in S725.

Why is there a one hour time limit?

There are only 30 workstations in the labs. The time limit gives all students an opportunity to use the computers.

Can I get help with my course work?

Students seeking help with course work should register for a tutoring appointment.

Why do I need a diskette?

The hard drives on the lab computers are deleted daily. You must save your work on a 3 1/2 inch diskette, USB drive, CD-R, CD-RW Compact Disks . The LRC does not sell diskettes. You may purchase them in the college bookstore.

What is the printing policy?

Only one copy per person, per document, is permitted. Printing of multiple copies is not permitted.

Why can't I install any software?

All software on BMCC LRC computers must be licensed and registered to BMCC.

What is not permitted in the labs?

Eating, drinking and radio playing are strictly prohibited.

Can my friends work with me?

Students who are not working on a computer will not be permitted in the lab because of space constraints.

Are children allowed in the labs?

Because lab equipment can pose a risk to children, children will not be permitted in the labs.
