Welcome to the LRC

To help make your college career a success, the Learning Resource Center (LRC) offers students academic support services to strengthen academic skills and meet their learning needs. We offer tutorial and instructional computer lab services and course-specific, non-print supplemental instructional materials.

The LRC is located in room S-510 and all services are available free of charge to registered BMCC students.

LRC Services


The LRC provides small group tutoring to all registered BMCC students FREE of charge. All tutors are trained and certified.


E-Tutoring is now available to all students. You can e-mail your tutoring questions to our e-tutors who will respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, except when classes are not in session. Questions submitted over the weekend, if not answered within 24 hours, will be answered on the following Monday.

Online Tutoring

Online Tutoring is one of the many ways that BMCC is extending its academics support services to students to make their college career a success. Online Tutoring provides students with live online tutorial sessions from anywhere they have internet access, as well as E-Tutoring (email tutoring) services.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

SI is a learning assistance program that is designed to increase student retention through the use of collaborative learning techniques.

Instructional Computer Labs

Computer labs are available for students to type their papers or use the internet--FREE
Study Skills, Instructional Computing Services, and Instructional Media.

Additional Academic Resources

Additional Academic Resources are course-specific links to selected web sites that can help you to understand fundamental concepts of the courses you are currently enrolled in. Also, you will find helpful resources that can assist you with writing essays and completing research projects.
