The Liberal Arts internship is
a two-credit course that involves field work and independent study
under the direction of a coop internship faculty coordinator. Students
are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours week in internship positions.
Internships allow students to
combine the theory, practice, and principles learned in the classroom
with actual work experience in business, industry, government agencies,
and service organizations directly related to the student's field
of study. Internships are offered in the fall, spring, and summer
semesters.
Sample Internship Duties
Interns will apply theory learned in class to gain practical experience
and skills in some of the following areas:editorial skills, marketing
skills, counseling skills, sales skills, communication skills, design
skills, record-keeping and research skills, and computer skills.
