Pride Center

Welcome to the Pride Center.  We foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff focusing on the experiences and identities withing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQIA+) community. The Pride Center offers events, programs and services focused on supporting and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, and the role of allies. Our goal is to educate the BMCC community on inclusion, allyship, and intersectionality.

All students are welcome to participate regardless of orientation, sex, gender or expression.

The Pride Center offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year to educate, support, and enhance the BMCC community. All members of the BMCC community are welcomed to participate. Take a look at our calendar to see upcoming events.

Pride Month

The Pride Center is an active participant of the BMCC Pride Month. We collaborate with the The Pride Month Committee to plan a fun and diverse calendar of events just for you! All  Pride Month related activities are posted on our BMCC Pride Month Calendar of Events.

Pride Month Events are approved for CCT credit.

SafeZone Training

The Pride Center oversees BMCC’s SafeZone Training, which explores how to be better allies and create a safe and inclusive space for the Queer Community at BMCC and beyond. The training explores LGBTQIA+ identities, sex, gender, sexuality, expression and intersectionality while also examining prejudice, societal expectations, and privilege.

Counseling Center: LGBTQ+ Therapy Group

Thursdays, 2-3 p.m. via Zoom
Take part in a safe and confidential therapy group for BMCC LGBTQ+ identified students where the goal is to connect and support each other.  The group is led by Nestor Borrero-Bracero, Ph.D. and Amy Ojerholm, Ph.D. from the BMCC Counseling Center. CUNY LGBTQIA+ Hub

The CUNY LGBTQIA+ Hub, is a resource overseen by the CUNY LGBTQI+ Council, a CUNY-wide committee of faculty and staff dedicated to supporting the intersectional LGBTQI+ communities across the university system. It is a great resource for students to connect across CUNY, get access to updated policies, resources, programs, and leadership opportunities across CUNY and NYC.

Stop by S-340 in the Main Building to pick up free pads, tampons, internal and external condoms, lube, and dental dams.
