| Recruitment is conducted during the fall
and spring semesters. If you are interested in becoming a learning
assistant please contact the designated program supervisor. |
| General Learning Assistant Duties: |
| 1. |
Meet with students in an individual, shared,
or group tutoring format to enhance, support and clarify concepts
discussed in class lectures, readings, handouts, etc. |
| 2. |
Provide guidance in study skills methods. |
| 3. |
Complete all paperwork to assist in the monitoring
of students using tutoring services. |
| 4. |
Participate in the program orientation and training
sessions. |

| Qualifications: |
| 1. |
Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average. |
| 2. |
Certification by appropriate department chair
or designee. |
| 3. |
Excellent communication skills. |
| 4. |
Applicants must be available to participate
in required training on February 22 and March 15, and ongoing
training sessions throughout the semester. |
